Experience GIS through a simple culture-rich everyday interface that delivers reliable information designed to connect people with events, activities and information.  This is a demonstration of a crude model utilizing GIS and the best practices of established standard communications protocol as applied by a few of our current generation of retiring veterans working in collaboration with Naccarato Network, Pt. Ruston Development, and Rebuilding Together South Sound.
This lightning talk highlights a case study of the premier Pt. Ruston Development, located in the heart of the South Sound, through the experience of people living their lives. Watch the progression of development, find out what’s happened, is happening, and is planned to happen. See how to choose from one of many restaurants and make a reservation, rent a surrey bike, and get excited about what’s in the works. GIS is one of the essential elements of many readily available components that can make all this possible. Come listen to the idea, how it might work, and understand its value.
Whether it’s the state's storied past of technological innovation, inspirational efforts of institutions such as University of Washington, or graduating digital citizen, the South Sound stands formidable on its own; pragmatic collaboration and a window of economic growth paving way for true victory in the GIS arena.
