Successfully Engaging Your Users with GIS

Often one of the most challenging and vital aspects of a project is when we educate our users about the importance and power of GIS.  How do we impart the complexities of GIS in a simple, effective way?  Come join a presentation and discussion reviewing how to 'on-board' new users through informative presentation tools/resources, training opportunities, and documentation.

Navigating the Challenges of Working With Small Business/Agencies and Non-Profits

Not all businesses and agencies have the budgets and staff to have a complete GIS so how do we support their project and long term needs?  Learn how 3 GIS professionals have navigated the challenges of engaging a range of small project teams/organizations with a spectrum of GIS skills, lack of software availability and variable budgets to successful conclusions.

GIS For Risk Management

How do we take these same skills and 'go big' with them?  This presentation and discussion focuses on engaging a larger project team with limited GIS experience.  This project highlights the opportunities of GIS to assist a project team working in multiple countries (Canada and US) and with limited electronic access for remote locations.  Good data collection, standardized map products, spatial analyses and a dedicated team guided this innovative risk management project.
